Festival of Lights in Riverside

When it comes to celebrating the Christmas season, not a lot of events can compare to the Festival of Lights in the Inland Empire. The Festival of Lights is an annual event that takes place at the Mission Inn Hotel in Riverside. The festival features over 5 million Christmas Lights and more than 200 animated figures, which includes the world’s largest artificial mistletoe. This six-week-long festival, that begins a week after Thanksgiving all the way to the first week of January, sees over 200,000 guests from all over the country and the world, all drawn to this one place by the spectacular light show.

 

St. Christmas Lights in Rancho Cucamonga

Head over to San Bernadino to experience the Thoroughbred St. Christmas Lights at Rancho Cucamonga. The streets at Ranch Cucamonga are normally lined with thousands of people who truly enjoy the holiday season. The people of this suburban area so used to floods of visitors wondering their streets and ogling at their peculiar light displays that it has actually become a tradition they look forwards to every December.

 

Palm Springs Festival of Lights

You may also want to try the Palms Spring Festival of Lights, which is scheduled to happen on the first Saturday of December. The Palm Springs Festival of Lights has been one of the most popular traditions in Palm Springs for over 25 years now. The festival features a parade with a marching band, numerous performing acts, and of course Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause. You will especially be fascinated by the colorful floats that feature thousands of Christmas Lights. This year’s festival will take place on Palm Canyon from 6pm till late. The parade itself will begin at Palm Canyon Drive, go down past Ramon Road, and finally onto Tamarisk Road where the parade comes to an end.

 

Wild Lights at the Living Desert

Found in Palm Desert, Riverside County, the Palm Desert zoo is popular for its exceptionally beautiful light displays around the Christmas period. Here you will also be able to meet Santa Clause and take pictures with him, enjoy live music entertainment, see a model train that’s over 3,000 feet long, and ride a trackless train. This function, however, will happen on selected dates that will be announced ahead of time throughout the course of December; the event takes place between 6 and 9pm on the selected days. Admission fees for adults will be $10 and only $8 for children and anyone with a military ID.
